“Our relationship has been very toxic from the beginning, and I just never did anything about it, because I knew if I contacted police that Jay would be deported,” she said about her initial reaction to her marital troubles. “There was a lot of abuse going on in our relationship.”
“I filed a PFA, and I took all the evidence in on Monday,” said the reality star. “Jay was served at 7:10 PM on Monday, and it specifically said in there ‘you’re not allowed to talk about this PFA or Ashley at all on any social media platform.’”
But Jay did not act accordingly, and “the very next day, went on social media and made a post [about her and the PFA].”
The police saw that he had violated the document and notified Ashley that there was a warrant out for his arrest. Jay told authorities that he would turn himself in on Tuesday evening.
“The officers called me at 1:30 this morning and said that he finally had turned himself in,” Ashley said.
“I filed for his green card and then I retracted it because he cheated on me again,” she said.
“Jay and I have a PFA hearing next Wednesday…and then he’ll go back to York Country Prison until he is seen by an immigration judge,” so Ashley and Jay will be able to see one another in due time.
“This is a very sad situation overall…I’m not popping champagne bottles celebrating today,” Ashley lamented. “It’s hard to sit here and think about how he’s sitting in a jail cell right now, but I also have to remember everything he put me through the past year.”
Ashley and Jay are currently still married, and Jay has yet to sign the divorce paperwork. “I still have a great deal of love for him so it isn’t easy…Picturing my husband in jail is the worst feeling in the world.”
“Obviously I’m going through legal issues as well…Our relationship was so toxic that I have never put my hands on a partner or done anything like throw a fire extinguisher,” she says in regards to her current case. “He literally did everything he possibly could to get me to freak out because he was informed that if he could prove abuse on his end that he could stay in the country.
“For a while we were trying to work it out, and then one day he asked me to come over to his house to pick up my passport, and I go over and he has a half-naked girl on his couch.”
“The biggest misconception that I want people to know is that they’re claiming that I basically went over to Jamaica, found someone, and brought them over here so I could be famous on TV,” she said.
“I already filed for Jay’s visa nine months before the TV show even contacted me to be on the show…Jay and I dated for a solid year nonstop before the show ever came into play.”
Ashley says that Jay’s race has nothing to do with her intentions or emotions. “If he was European or from wherever…I’m sorry, If you’re here illegally and you’re treating me poorly, I’m not going to file your paperwork.”
As for Jay’s intentions with her, she feels they were dishonest from the beginning. “He came over here on a K-1 visa. A K-1 visa is for love. And he was never in it for love, from day 1…He was absolutely in it for the visa.”
“I was truly in love with him, the finality of this is scathing.”
